In the morning, you'll take a flight to Gondar. Once you arrive, you'll explore Gondar, which was Ethiopia's capital in the 17th century under Emperor Fassiladas. It was a center of art, music, and literature. You’ll visit the Royal Enclosure, King Fasil’s Bath, and Debrebirhan Selassie Church, famous for its beautiful ceiling paintings.
In the afternoon, you'll drive to Debark, where the Simien Mountains National Park Headquarters is located. After completing the entry process, you'll drive to Sankaber, the first campsite. You'll be dropped off about 2 hours away from the campsite and start trekking through the stunning landscapes of the national park. Spending the night at Sankaber will help you get used to the high altitude.
After breakfast, you'll trek from Sankaber to Geech, which will take about 6-7 hours. Along the way, you’ll see the Jinbar Waterfall and the amazing views of the Simien Mountains. You’ll also spot Gelada baboons, lammergeyers (a type of vulture), and various plants.
After breakfast at the Geech campsite, you’ll trek to Chenek, crossing a grass plateau filled with Giant Lobelia plants. You’ll stop at several stunning viewpoints like Kedadit Gorge, Imet Gogo, and Enatiye. From these points, you’ll see deep canyons, distant ridges, and endless valleys, giving you a full 360-degree view of the Simien Mountains.
In the morning, you can enjoy the views around Chenek or take an early trek to Buhait for more adventure. In the afternoon, you’ll drive back to Gondar and spend the night there.
In the morning, you'll fly back to Addis Ababa, marking the end of your tour.
